What is Metamask?
Is wallet for Ethereum. It enables you to send, receive and store Ethereums in a secure way.
Why you need it?
- Is one of the easiest way to connect to the Ethereum network.
- Allows you to access the decentralized web and connect to the world of decentralized applications. Example: Be part of Proof of Humanity and earn UBI tokens.
Step by step guide:
- Go to Metamask: https://metamask.io/
2. Click to “Download”
3. Select type of installation. I prefer to install it on the web browser. I use Mozilla Forefox.
4. Click “Install MetaMask for Firefox”
Automatically a new window appears to install the extension to the Firefox.
5. Click “Add to Firefox”
6. Accept permissions asked clicking “Add”
A new window will be opened on Firefox. You’ll see the confirmation that the extension have been installed and a “Get started” button.
7. Click “Get Started”
8. Click “Create a wallet”
After that you can choose if you want to let MetaMask use some of your data in orther to improve the service.
9. Create password
Now comes the most important step for you: the SECRET BACKUP PHRASE. This phrase give you the power to restore your wallet. In case you lose your password or miss your computer/phone, the only way you can restore the wallet is with this phrase.
Read carefully these step. Metamask give you some tips.
10. Click “Click here to reveal your secret words” and write it on a paper (keep it safe!!!!)
11. Click “Next”
12. Confirm your Secret Backup Phrase. Read the instructions and then click “Confirm”
13. It’s done!!!
